Belt Up Baby is finally on the market! :-)

After what seems like an eternity, but has actually been a very interesting and eventful 5 years, Belt Up Baby has gone to market.  Jules and I could only dream of this day when we began making our first prototype out of felt, a page from her son’s hardback book and the straps cut off my son’s old car seat.  At her kitchen table with a cuppa and chocolate biscuit to hand, we made our very first prototype.  From that day to now has been a stressful but enjoyable journey and we have learnt so much along the way.  We are immensely proud of what we have achieved and hope that you all find the product as useful as we intended.

Belt Up Baby team say goodbye to Brittany.

Well poor Britney was whisked off back to TRL today to resume her career as a crash test dummy,  I took her clothes off (not like that thank you!!), and returned her to her former glory,  she didn’t have much going for her really but she did us proud at the trade fair in Cologne, I won’t miss the fact she took up residence in my house for a week, every morning I had to remind myself that it was a dummy sitting bolt upright in my lounge, especially if I had to nip downstairs in the night to get a chocolate biscuit (just an example of course!)  only to glance the wrong way and catch sight of this stoutly figure, definitely not good for someone of my disposition!!  Anyway, lots still to do and many more emails Sharon has to write, computers are not my strong point, […]

Belt Up Baby go to Cologne.

Well here we are back in civilisation after a very long four days at our first trade fair in Cologne.  Our feet are killing us but it was worth every blister and corn Sharon and I endured, well almost!!  It was a fantastic experience and a very positive one. We had a great deal of interest from traders coming from all over the world and made some great friends with our fellow exhibitors, we didn’t stop laughing most of the time (in between doing all that hard work of course!!).  We finished off the last night in Germany with an after show party hosted by the Kind und  Jugend organisers, great venue, great night and GREAT BIG hangover in the morning, had by all I might add! Fingers crossed we can now turn our vision into reality and move forward with  Belt up Baby with enthusiasm, passion and belief.

Belt Up Baby Go Filming in Henley on Thames

Sharon and I have just spent the day in Henley on Thames filming for the website, it was an amazing experience and a little surreal, having a black cab parked in a white studio watching Sharon strutting her stuff in front of the camera demonstrating how to fit Belt Up Baby, three hours later and there was still no sign of a starring role for me, I was starting to feel neglected!!

Only joking, it was so interesting seeing how Simon the camera man worked his magic. We both individually got interviewed, Sharon was a definite natural and kept her cool while I sat there and just seemed to wave my hands around as if I were about to take flight, we must have done something right though as the videos look great!

We closed the day interviewing parents on the streets of Henley getting their feedback on BUB, brilliant day, gorgeous […]

Belt Up Baby are at the Kind+Jugend Trade Show!!

The two week count down has begun and Sharon and I are already working out what to take (wardrobe wise of course!!), so much to do and so little time left to do it. Children still off school so finding any time in the day to organise anything seems a little difficult (that’s me being polite!!).

Picking up the adult and baby dummies Monday from TRL, as I’ll have a car full the adult dummy (I’ll call him Brian for now!) will have to sit in the front seat whilst I drive him home, can’t wait to get stuck in a traffic jam, NOT, keep thinking what i can stuff over his face!! Sharon is emailing me as we speak giving everyone yet another long list of things we need to do before we leave for cologne. So bossy, well at least one of us is on the ball! We can’t […]
