Well here we are at the Harrogate International Nursery Fair, we’re set up with plenty of time to spare (miracles can happen!). Presently we’re sitting here at our stand with our morning cup of coffee and peppermint tea, I have to say we couldn’t of wished for a better stand position, we’re right next to a food station and within yards to the toilets, what more could a lady ask for????. It’s now 09.30 and other than repeatedly eyeing up the biscuits on display that are obviously calling my name, we are ready to hopefully do our stuff and promote Belt Up Baby, I think I’m getting a cold as I keep sniffing and annoying Sharon, bodes well for the next three days ????????, speak soon. X
Well Christmas is fast approaching and most of us are stressed making mince pies, writing cards and trying to find the time to wrap presents, I know personally it seems to be the worst year ever for leaving things to the last minute (I’m sure I say that every year!). This is where we have our girl Friday, Penny who is helping us promote our product, she’s been amazing and frankly I really don’t know how she finds the time to do it all. I know the Belt up Baby team (that’s, Charlie, myself, Sharon and Andy!) would really like to thank her for the hard work she’s putting in. As this is a blog for Belt up Baby, let’s share a few things that have been happening over the last few months. We’ve had a great deal of interest from distributors and customers from around the globe who see the potential of this […]
After what seems like an eternity, but has actually been a very interesting and eventful 5 years, Belt Up Baby has gone to market. Jules and I could only dream of this day when we began making our first prototype out of felt, a page from her son’s hardback book and the straps cut off my son’s old car seat. At her kitchen table with a cuppa and chocolate biscuit to hand, we made our very first prototype. From that day to now has been a stressful but enjoyable journey and we have learnt so much along the way. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved and hope that you all find the product as useful as we intended.
Well poor Britney was whisked off back to TRL today to resume her career as a crash test dummy, I took her clothes off (not like that thank you!!), and returned her to her former glory, she didn’t have much going for her really but she did us proud at the trade fair in Cologne, I won’t miss the fact she took up residence in my house for a week, every morning I had to remind myself that it was a dummy sitting bolt upright in my lounge, especially if I had to nip downstairs in the night to get a chocolate biscuit (just an example of course!) only to glance the wrong way and catch sight of this stoutly figure, definitely not good for someone of my disposition!! Anyway, lots still to do and many more emails Sharon has to write, computers are not my strong point, […]
Well here we are back in civilisation after a very long four days at our first trade fair in Cologne. Our feet are killing us but it was worth every blister and corn Sharon and I endured, well almost!! It was a fantastic experience and a very positive one. We had a great deal of interest from traders coming from all over the world and made some great friends with our fellow exhibitors, we didn’t stop laughing most of the time (in between doing all that hard work of course!!). We finished off the last night in Germany with an after show party hosted by the Kind und Jugend organisers, great venue, great night and GREAT BIG hangover in the morning, had by all I might add! Fingers crossed we can now turn our vision into reality and move forward with Belt up Baby with enthusiasm, passion and belief.
